Illinois MatMen is happy to announce the creation of the 2021 Matmen Open to be held December 29th and 30th in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
At this time, over twenty Division I institutions have committed to the competition to be held at The Now Arena.
Registration for open entries will begin on Sunday at Midnight here.
‘I’m thrilled to be able to set up a first class event in a first class facility to allow so many athletes and coaches to compete,’ said Tournament Producer Izzy Martinez. ‘Holiday season is wrestling season and to be able to have such an excellent collection of talent in my home state makes it even more dear to my heart. We’re excited about this event and doing even more like this in the Chicago area.’’
The 2021 MatMen Open will be exclusively Men’s collegiate weights. We encourage all women’s wrestlers to consider participating in the Hawkeye Open on January 1st and 2nd and to support the growing efforts of Wrestle Like a Girl.

Wednesday, DEC 29
9 AM - First Session
6 PM - Quarterfinals & Wrestlebacks
Thursday, DEC 30
10 AM - Semifinals, Consolations, 7th place matches (8 mats)
6 PM - Finals, 3rd and 5th place matches (3 mats)
Fans will be allowed to attend and tickets will be available at the arena.
