Well, apparently, Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson didn't get that memo because he has signed a historic NIL deal with the WWE that will allow the 2020 Tokyo gold medalist to participate with the professional wrestling organization while simultaneously competing for Bradon Egum and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers next season.

While many of the particulars of this groundbreaking deal are still unknown at this time, it seems to be a win-win for all parties involved, especially fans who weren't ready to see Gable's time on the collegiate mat come to a close.

Still, we will have to wait and see how this unique arrangement plays out in the months to come, but it is nice to finally have a concrete answer of sorts regarding Steveson's future after what felt like months of endless and unconfirmed speculation.
