Wrestle Like A Girl (WLAG) is leading a national She Can Wrestle campaign to encourage and support the growth of girls wrestling across America. This campaign will run from September 1 through November 5.
Every Wednesday, starting September 1, we are asking wrestling clubs to swing open their doors to girls who either wrestle or want to wrestle. Our goal is to get 200 wrestling programs participating nationwide.
She Can Wrestle because people are acting intentionally about inclusion.
During the 2021 Olympics, Tamyra Mensah Stock emerged as a champion— joining Helen Maroulis as America’s 2nd female wrestler to top the podium and the world’s first Black female to win gold. Olympic dreams become reality when girls find a space on the wrestling mat where opportunities ignite goals.
Tamyra and Team USA’s success are direct results of all the people who helped facilitate those opportunities. She Can Wrestle because we are developing the sport together.
We are asking you to take a leadership role by becoming an advocate of the campaign:
1. Create a 30-second (or less) video finishing the sentence,“She Can Wrestle Because…”
2. Promote your campaign involvement across your social media platforms to help promote and gain critical support
for girls’ and women’s wrestling.

Included during the campaign are a number of events and activities, including the Wrestle Like A Girl Gala in Colorado Springs, Colo., October 22, and the WLAG Empowerment Festival and the She Can Wrestle: Charity Wrestling Meet in Colorado Springs, Colo. October 23.
