MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Colin Heffernan has returned to the Central Michigan wrestling program as an assistant coach under legendary head coach Tom Borrelli.

Heffernan earned four letters while wrestling for the Chippewas from 2014-18, wrestling at 149 and 157 pounds. He compiled an 81-38 career record, qualified for the NCAA Championships three times, and was a two-time team captain.

Heffernan, a Cleveland native, earned a bachelor of science degree with a major in political science from CMU and then earned a Master's of Coaching Education from Ohio. He was an assistant coach in the Bobcats' program over the past three seasons.

"Colin will be really good for our middle weights as a workout partner and as an assistant coach," Borrelli said. "It's always nice to have someone back who is a Chippewa. He's very excited to be back and be a part of our program again and help us accomplish great things."
