Kyle Shoop Named Assistant Coach on the University at Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY – Kyle Shoop has been hired as an assistant coach on the University at Buffalo wrestling staff, head coach John Stutzman announced on Monday. Shoop comes to Buffalo following a standout career at Lock Haven.

"We are extremely excited to add Coach Shoop to our coaching staff," Stutzman said. After bringing Kyle on campus, Coach Ramos and I knew right away that he was the perfect fit for our program. His relentless attitude as a competitor was inspiring. He was one of the best wrestlers in the country. His attitude, work ethic and successes will benefit everyone inside the Ed Michael Wrestling Complex."

Over his career at Lock Haven (2015-20), Shoop was an All-American, a four-time national qualifier and an EWL Champion. The Boiling Springs, PA native won 132 matches for the Eagles, second most in program history.

"I am extremely excited to join the University at Buffalo coaching staff," Shoop said. "Alongside Coach Stutzman and Coach Ramos, I look forward to developing current and future Bulls into All-Americans and National Champions."

The 2021-22 wrestling season is scheduled to begin at Wisconsin on November 1.
