There is more good news in Brookings, South Dakota, for newly-extended head coach Damion Hahn and the South Dakota State wrestling program as the Jackrabbits secured a commitment from TOM's No. 43 in the Class of 2022, Bennett Berge (Kasson-Mantorville, MN).

Bennett verbally pledged to SDSU, joining Hahn and older brother Brady, who joined the Jackrabbit coaching staff late last month as a volunteer assistant.

Berge, the seventh-ranked at 182, according to TOM, is a four-time Minnesota Class-2A state champion with one season left.

Berge, an accomplished folkstyle competitor, also showed his chops in freestyle last month in Fargo at the same weight. The future SDSU Jackrabbit, Berge, finished fourth in Fargo's Junior freestyle tournament. Back in 2019, Berge won himself a stop sign in Fargodome at the 16U division for freestyle.

Other noteworthy accolades include being a two-time Super 32 placer.

While the upperweight room is a bit crowded in Brookings at the moment, there is no clear frontrunner at the 184-pond class where the younger Berge projects. Given his solid prep resume, coupled with his impressive family linage in the sport, Bennett could impact the SDSU starting 10 instantly.
