The draw for two more U.S. Olympic wrestlers, 2019 World champion Tamyra Mensah Stock (Colorado Springs, Colo./USOPTC/Titan Mercury WC) at 68 kg in women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman star G’Angelo Hancock (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 97 kg have been conducted on Sunday afternoon.

Mensah Stock and Hafizov will be competing in their first Olympic Games, with their competition beginning on Monday, August 2.

Mensah Stock, who has won two Senior World medals, will open against 2016 Olympic champion and 2017 World champion Sara Dosho of Japan. Dosho, who was unseeded, was fifth at the 2019 Senior Worlds, where Mensah-Stock defeated her 10-1 in the quarterfinals.

Mensah Stock has received the No. 1 seed. If she beats Dosho, she will face the winner of the match between two-time World medalist Feng Zhou of China and Yudari Sanchez Rodriguez of Cuba. Other athletes in her half bracket include No. 4 seed Anna Schell of Germany, plus 2018 World champion Alla Cherkasova of Ukraine, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Agnieszka Wieszczek-Kordus of Poland, plus Enas Ahmed of Egypt.

The other seeds (in the other half-bracket) include No. 2 seed Blessing Oborududu of Nigeria and No. 3 seed and multiple age-group World champion Kounba Larroque of France. Two-time World champion in Battsetseg Soronzonbold of Mongolia is also in the other half-bracket

Mensah Stock was a 2019 World champion in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, and also won a World bronze medal in 2018. She was also a member of the 2017 Senior World Team. Mensah Stock won the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, but did not compete in Rio de Janeiro because the U.S. did not qualify her weight class for the Games. She was a two-time WCWA national champion for Wayland Baptist University, and is originally from Katy, Texas.
