Junior Greco-Roman
The Junior Pan Am Championships serves as a qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games at only the Olympic weights. The top-eight in each of the six Olympic weights per style will earn bids to the Junior Pan Am Games in Cali, Colombia, in December.

The U.S. Junior Greco-Roman team qualified four Olympic weights today (60, 67, 77, 87 kg) and has the chance to qualify two more on Thursday. In addition to qualifying four weights, the Red, White and Blue snagged four medals, including one gold and three silvers.

Picking up a gold medal, Tyler Hannah qualified the weight at 87 kg. Silver medals came from Aizayah Yacapin (55 kg), Richard Fedalen (63 kg) and Payton Jacobson (67 kg). Jacobson’s medal qualified the U.S. for the Pan Am Games as well as the performances by Phillip Moomey (60 kg) and Justin McCunn (77 kg), who finished eighth and seventh, respectively.

Cadet men’s freestyle
With only six weight classes contested today in the Cadet men’s freestyle division, the USA went six-for-six in the gold-medal hunt in the first day of competition. Overall, the squad compiled a 19-0 record with 18 technical falls and one pin. As a group, they surrendered only four match points on Wednesday.

Winning gold medals were Bo Bassett (45 kg), Luke Lilledahl (48 kg), Alan Koehler (51 kg), Kael Lauridsen (55 kg), Brock Bobzien (60 kg) and Pierson Manville (65 kg), who all competed in round robin brackets on Wednesday. These athletes will compete again in Greco-Roman later in the week.

The remaining four weight classes (71 kg, 80 kg, 92 kg, 110 kg) will compete on Thursday.
