Earlier this week, we learned that Wisconsin's Evan Wick is the latest NCAA star to enter the transfer portal. At this time, it is unknown where the former Badger 165-pounder will compete in 2022.

Whoever lands the services of Wick will be getting an instant shot in the arm. The Murrieta, California, native is a two-time NCAA All-American and a three-time NCAA qualifier in as many attempts.

Wick has placed as high as third (2017-18) and fourth (2018-19) at nationals. During each podium run as both a freshman and sophomore, Wick was 30-7 and 32-6.

As a junior in 2019-20, Wick battled injury. As such, he did not compete at the 2020 Big Ten Championship but qualified for the 2020 NCAA Championship via an at-large bid and received the eighth seed in the 165-pound bracket.

Wick took another redshirt this past season in 2021.

On the freestyle circuit, Wick has been equally as impressive recently. He finished in fourth place at the 74 kg Olympic Trials last month with impressive wins over Logan Massa, Chance Marsteller, and Thomas Gantt.

Wick marks the third athlete in the portal to be affiliated with the Madison-based program. Former Kent standout Andrew McNally transferred into the program while Jared Krattiger transferred out.
